1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. In addition to traditional cookies, similar tracking technologies may be used:
- Session storage and local storage: Browser-based storage that may persist for the session or until manually cleared.
- Tracking pixels / web beacons: Tiny image files or JavaScript snippets that record user interactions.
- Device fingerprinting: In limited contexts, advertising platforms may collect device attributes. Chillead does not independently perform device fingerprinting.
2. How Chillead Uses Cookies
Context A — The Chillead Platform Application (the web app used by tenant company admins, sales reps, and technicians): Only essential and functional cookies are set. No analytics or marketing cookies at this time.
Context B — Tenant Booking Pages (public booking forms): Tenant companies may configure tracking pixels from advertising platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn). The tenant company is responsible for the pixel configuration and all compliance obligations.

7. Cookies and State Privacy Laws

Tracking pixels on booking pages may constitute “sharing” under CCPA/CPRA. Chillead does not deploy advertising pixels on its own platform. Tenant companies who deploy pixels must provide California-facing privacy notices and honor GPC signals.
7.2 Texas (TDPSA)
Texas residents have opt-out rights regarding targeted advertising. Tenant companies deploying tracking pixels on booking pages accessible to Texas residents should provide clear disclosure and opt-out mechanisms.
7.3 Other State Laws
Multiple states have enacted privacy laws with cookie provisions, including Virginia (CDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Montana (MCDPA), and Nevada (SB 220). Tenant companies should consult legal counsel for compliance.
